Indian lnstitute of Science Bangalore would be the National Co-ordinator for the STARS programme to implement and monitor the programme as per scheme guidelines.
  • All the proposals would be received online through STARS website created and managed by IISc.
The procedure adopted in receiving and reviewing the proposals:
  1. Announcement of priority areas: For each proposal call, the priority areas under each scientific domain will be announced.
  2. Submission of proposal:
    • Suitable templates with instructions will be made available for preparing the proposals in offline mode. Applicants can register/login through a dedicated webportal to submit the proposals.
    • Principal investigator of a proposal would submit the proposal along with all the required documents, including those from Co-PI(s) if applicable.
    • If Co-PI(s) are involved, there shall be an email-based verification procedure to get consent from each added Co-PI.
  3. Review of the proposals: Reviews of the proposals will be carried out by the Domain Expert Committee. The committee shall adopt multi-stages of peer reviewing procedure including a blind/semi-blind screening.
  4. Recommendations: Recommended proposals will be announced with the approval of the parent funding agency on STARS webpage. Also, successful principal investigators will be intimated by email about the selection of their proposal.
