Financial Terms & Grant Rules

1. Funding Limits

Project funding is up to ₹50 Lakhs for a single-PI based project and up to ₹100 Lakhs for multiple-PI collaborative projects for a maximum duration of three years.

2. Audited Statements & UCs

The project group will furnish a Utilization Certificate (UC) and an audited Statement of Accounts (SoA) pertaining to the grant (along with annual progress reports) at the end of each financial year.

3. Surrender & Carry-Forward

Any unspent sanctioned amount at the conclusion of the financial year should be surrendered back. Any carry-forward of funds to the next financial year may be considered only with specific prior approval.

Eligible Expenditure Heads

  • Non-Recurring: Specialized laboratory equipment, fabrication rigs, and minor instruments.
  • Recurring: Manpower (stipends for JRF, SRF, and Postdoctoral Research Associates), consumables and chemicals, domestic field travel, contingency funds, facility usage charges, and host institute overheads.
